- FACTS: Wallace was known as the "smartest Claypoole". In 1905, he compiled the history of Union Baptist Church from its
organization in 1798 to 1905. He build the present church edifice in 1889 for a contract price of $1685. He was a builder and farmer and lived on a
farm given to him by his father.
