• FACTS: From the House of the Barons of Bousis, Peers at Cambray, bearing in Azure a Cross Argent. The commune (village) of Cambrai was created 1069 and reorganized in 1076 without the Bishop who was the feudal Lord until that time. Earliest records of the Des Marets family go back to the 6th Century, compiled by King Louis XIV of France, to authenticate the lines of Nobility of France. The records are in Paris. These records were originally prepared by Jacques Joseph de Maretz and Louis Trip de Marez in 1732.
