OBITUARY:
Mildred R. Ruffaner, 88, of Kittanning, died Monday, May 11, 2009, at Altmeyer Country
Rest. She was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Kittanning, a daughter of Augustus D. and Reta
Fitzgerald Fiscus. She lived in the area her entire life. She was employed as a caster
at Castle Rubber Plant in East Butler. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church,
Kittanning, and enjoyed gardening, crafts, line dancing and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Ruffaner, who died in 1999; a daughter,
Madeline Sarver; brothers, Lloyd, Victor, Clyde and Percy Fiscus; and sisters, Myrtle
Rupert, Freda Stivason and Loretta Waterson. She is survived by a son, Blair "Gus"
Ruffaner, of New Mexico; five grandchildren, Mary Hanson, Reta Dunmire, Paula Sarver,
Victor Ruffaner and Matt Richards; sisters, Goldie Moore, of Fort Myers, Fla., and
Madeline Hayes, of Worthington; also 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at MANTINI FUNERAL HOME INC., where a service
will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor David Blevins officiating.
Interment in Lawn Haven Cemetery.
