J. Arlene Lefever, 94, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at her home.
She was born July 7, 1926 in Butler, the daughter of the late Ralph Francis and Dorothy (Cross) Shearer.
Arlene was a member of Clinton United Presbyterian Church. She is a retired school nurse of the South Butler County School District. Arlene was an active member of her community, serving others through PTA, 4H, church activities, and many other acts of service.
Surviving are her 5 sons, Paul (Joye) Lefever of Butler, John (Laura) Lefever of Saxonburg, David (Patty) Lefever of Sarver, Mark (Holly) Lefever of Mt Lebanon and Brian (Brenda) Lefever of Butler; a daughter, Brenda (Howard) Pyle of Butler; 27 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Lefever who passed away on 07/13/2005, a son, Ralph Lefever, 2 sisters, Dolly Martin and Frances Shearer, and grandson, Hunter Lumley.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Sunday, July 26, 2020, from 2-5 PM until the time of service at 5 PM with Kelley Angleberger officiating. Following CDC guidelines, please wear face masks and social distance.
Interment in the Clinton United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Saxonburg.

Frances E. Shearer, 84, of Harrisville, formerly of Saxonburg passed away at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville, Pa.
She was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Worthington, and was the daughter of the late Ralph F. Shearer and the late Dorothy Cross Shearer.
Frances was a former employee for PARC Productions in Butler. She was a former member of the Baptist Temple in Butler and a current member of the Clinton United Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg.
She is survived by one sister, J. Arlene Lefever of Butler; three nieces; six nephews; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister; and two infant brothers.
SHEARER - Friends of Frances E. Shearer, who died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
Funeral services will be held immediately following at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Kelley Angleberger of Clinton United Presbyterian Church officiating. Private burial will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
