Robert P. Cosgrove, of Osborne Road, Hadley, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, surrounded by his loving family. He was 77.
Bob was born in Kittanning on October 29, 1944, a son of the late Joseph M. and Josephine M. (Reefer) Cosgrove. On April 19, 1968, he married the love of his life, the former Linda C. Shearer, who survives.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. He then worked at Westinghouse in Sharon for 3 ½ years. Bob was then employed in the maintenance department, at PPG Industries, in Meadville, where he retired in 2006 after 35 ½ years. Bob was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Greenville where he had served as deacon for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. Aside from spending the winters in Florida, you would often find him gardening or tinkering in his shop. Bob liked anything that had to do with eating, but more so enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; three children, Stacey Wagner and husband Matt of Cranberry Township, Pam Smith and husband Thomas of Greenville, and Ronald J. Cosgrove and wife Joni of Evans City; a brother, James Cosgrove of Barberton, OH; and seven grandchildren, Erika and Spencer Wagner, Rachel and Austin Smith and Caroline, Gabriele and Davion Cosgrove.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Thomas and Joe and two sisters, Helen Bennett and Mary Morrison.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11:00 am at Grace Baptist Church, 101 Donation Rd, Greenville, with Pastor Keith Troyer of the church officiating with internment at Stevenson Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy, Sheakleyville and on Saturday at the church from 10:00-11:00 am time of service.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.snyderfh.com. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Grace Baptist Church or the Disabled American Veterans organization.
