Mr. John W. Shearer, age 94 of Sebastian, FL, passed away August 19, 2008.
Mr. Shearer was a member of Gideons International for over 20 years and a member of First Baptist Church of Micco for 18 years, where he was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Mr. Shearer also retired from Lockheed after 25 years.
Mr. Shearer was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Mrs. Bernice Mae Shearer and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his current wife of 20 years Mrs Mildred Shearer, son John C. Shearer and daughter-in-law Brenda of Woodstock, daughters Lois Mae Sitton and son-in-law Donald of Orange, TX, Noreen Joyce Gossage and son-in-law Earl of Marietta, stepdaughters Sharon Babcock and Vicki Lyons, brothers Richard Shearer and Robert Shearer, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Shearer will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 3:00pm at the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. Nelson Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 3pm Sunday prior to the service.
