John Keenan first married Leanna McCormick, as you know.
When she died, he married my GGG grandmother Lucinda Sessums Rountree, and they had two children, Alice Leanna (b. 1840) and Walter A. (b. 1845). Sometime prior to 1845 they moved to Huntsville, Texas along with John's children from his first marriage, Dr. Charles G. Keenan, Nancy B. Keenan Barrett, and Mary Keenan Wiley; and Lucinda's children, Catherine Rountree Brown Parish (my gg grandmother), Leonidas C. Rountree, and John McKinley Rountree. These families became prominent Huntsville pioneers. John became Walker County treasurer, and Lucinda ran the Keenan House, a well-known inn/tavern. John's son, Dr. Charles G. Keenan, became a famous Texan. You can Google him. Many family members are buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Huntsville within a few yards of Gen. Sam Houston. Dr. Charles is there, but I don't have a picture of his stone. You would think his father John would be there, but we have not yet found his marker. Lucy Bell Keenan is Walter Keenan's wife. John Keenan Wiley is John Keenan's grandson.
