FACTS: He served as a private in the War of 1812. He was mobilized in Captain James Douglas Company of Infantry 2nd South Carolina Regiment. His brothers, Edward & John, were in Captain Montgomery's Company, same Regiment.*see note below

DEATH: April 29, 1837, Florence, Lauderdale County, Alabama

NOTE:
Tabitha said that as of 1814 Joseph appeared as follows:
5'8, black hair, blue eyes, fair complexion.

The family moved to Lauderdale County, Alabama in April, 1822. Tabitha Terrell and two of Wyatt M. Terrell's children, went to Scott County, Mississippi, to live with Pinkney A. Terrell, in January, 1861. As of 1880, Tabitha was still living 5 miles southeast of Utica, in Hinds County, Mississippi.
