- FACTS: He was a farmer, a doctor, a pioneer school teacher, and a prominent Baptist who attended the Council and Associations of his Church.
He was a member of the original Guyandotte Baptist Church, from which the Coal Marsh Baptist Church in Glen Daniel, Raleigh County, Virginia, was formed, and he became a deacon while he lived in this area. From "Raleigh County's First Settlers, 1830-1840," we learn that his grandfather was Richard Bailey, an ancient pioneer of Mercer County, Virginia.
Isaac settled on Clear Fork of Guyan about 1815. He lived in the Lester and Marshes neighborhoods for many years and then returned to Wyoming County, Virginia.
