Hugh H. Fair, 85, of Worthington, entered into the presence of the Lord Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born Jan. 17, 1928, in West Kittanning, to the late Harold S. Fair and Marie (Campbell) Fair. Hugh graduated from Worthington-West Franklin High School in 1946. Hugh retired in 1993 from operating engineers Local No. 66 where he was a heavy equipment mechanic and operator. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific. He was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Kittanning. Hugh's hobbies included hunting, fishing and building and flying radio controlled airplanes.
Survivors include his son, Roger (Sandy) Fair, of Laveen, Ariz.; his daughter, Colleen (Paul) Keenan, of Rural Valley; his daughter-in-law, Patricia (Yates) Fair, of Yatesboro; his grandsons, R. Eric (Jennifer) Fair, of Arizona, Sean T. (Anna) Fair, of Virginia, Philip Geer, of Rural Valley, Brandon Fair, of Yatesboro; his granddaughter, Stephanie Fair, of Yatesboro; his great-grandchildren, Dustin and Tayla Fair, of Homer City, and Emma and Lily Fair, of Arizona; his brother, Forest (JoAn) Fair, of Kittanning; and his sister, Ruth (Lowell) Reed, of Cowansville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 57 years, Eyvette R. (Shearer) Fair, who passed away in 2007; his son, Michael H. Fair, who passed away in January of 2013; his grandson, Russell Wayne Fair, in 1972; and his sister, Marie Crissman, in 2009.
Hugh's love of his Savior shined through everyday of his life, in that there was nothing that brought him greater joy than helping his family and friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME in Worthington. Additional visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Grace Baptist Church, 527 Butler Road, Kittanning. Pastor Daniel Kaminski, his church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Slate Lick Cemetery.
