Forest Cowl Fair, 86, of Kittanning died Friday, June 24, 2016 at ACMH
Hospital.
He was born January 4, 1930 in Worthington to Harold and Marie (Campbell) Fair.
Forest was a 1948 graduate of Worthington High School, Worthington, Pa.
Forest was an over-the road truck driver before he went to work for Harry M.
Pollock Grocer Co., retiring in 1992.
He was a U.S. Army veteran before joining the Army Reservists in the infantry.
He was a longtime member of Center Hill Church of the Brethren.
His hobbies included woodworking and being a handyman, who could fix most
anything he attempted.
His most enjoyable hobby was tractor pulling with his green-colored Oliver
tractor, which he called "Ollie."
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jo An (Bowser) Fair, whom he married
June 17, 1955; his daughter, Denice Fair, of Kittanning; his son, Douglas Fair,
of Kittanning; his grandchildren, Justin (Leslie) Fair, of Kittanning, Jared
(Julie) Fair, of Kittanning and Kristin Fair, of Kittanning; his sister, Ruth
(Lowell) Reed, of Cowansville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and
wife, Eyvette Fair; and his sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Charles
Crissman.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the
Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, in Kittanning. Additional viewing will be from 10
a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Monday at the Center Hill Church of
the Brethren with the Rev. Donald Peters officiating.
Interment will be in Center Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund in Forest's memory at
Center Hill Church of the Brethren.
