Constance Jean Bodensteiner of Lowry Crossing, Texas passed away on January 1, 2020 at the age of 79. She was born on November 20, 1940, to Leonard Porter Cowan and Doris Alberta (Shearer) Cowan in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. Connie graduated from Geneva High School with the class of 1958. She graduated from Richland College in Dallas, Texas with an Arts Degree. Connie enlisted in the United States Navy on April 20, 1959. She was honorably discharged in 1960. Connie married Virgil Raymond Bodensteiner on August 8, 1959 in Covington, Tennessee. In addition to raising their children, she was an accomplished artist in multiple art forms and worked in furniture and lighting sales.
Connie is survived by her children, Doug Bodensteiner and wife, Teal, Virgil Bodensteiner, Jr., Lea Hernandez, and Mike Bodensteiner and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Summer Hernandez, Fox Hernandez, Lindy McMahan and husband, Billy, and Chris Stanford and wife, Samantha; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Riley McMahan; brothers and sisters, Corrine Joyce Dedi, Cary Joel Cowan, and Clinton James Cowan, and numerous other loving family and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Doris Cowan; husband, Virgil Raymond Bodensteiner; son, Gregory Bodensteiner; granddaughter, Jessica Bodensteiner.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Inurnment will be held at a later date next to her husband at Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
